Technical Workshops

Introduction

Since the beginning of 2004, Maxus has been presenting a series of technical workshops in central locations in various cities.

The workshops run for about 90 minutes at a cost of $77 incl. GST – a light lunch is included in that price. Each workshop focusses on one or more specific TextWorks or WebPublisher PRO topics.

"Well, that's the best money we've spent in a long time. Not only could I find where to find the names of everything I needed for a script, but I even applied them correctly!!! The script actually works. I found the sample that exported records in CSV format, and I even added the command to put the field names at the top of the file!!"

The workshops take the format of a live presentation by Maxus technical staff, with handouts provided to attendees. The workshops are especially useful to those of you who use the Inmagic software quite successfully already but would like to broaden your knowledge.

We have recently held a very successful Workshop on "designing and creating forms and reports in TextWorks". Other Workshops held recently have covered topics such as "Calculations in form designs", "Managing images", "Passwords and Security", "Creating a Textbase", "Canned searches in WebPublisher PRO", "System administration", "RSS", "Recent features" …

Next Workshop

Our next Melbourne Technical Workshop will be "Back to Basics" which will reintroduce some basic concepts for those who might be feeling a little “rusty” with Text Works, or for new users who would like a brief introduction to the program. The workshop will cover topics including searching, using and updating validation and substitution lists, record skeletons, batch modify, selecting forms and screens, printing and backing up.

The workshop will be held on 12 October 2011 from 12.00 noon at the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, Level 5, 50 Market Street, Melbourne.
